Our client, a leader in the building materials industry for over a century, has an immediate opening for a GM in one of their six Metro Detroit locations. Since 1900, the company has served the lumber and building material needs of the Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor communities. Their founder began selling coal and peat in the Downriver community of Trenton, Michigan. His business quickly expanded throughout Southeast Michigan, eventually including four lumberyards, two kitchen and bath design showrooms, floor coverings, kitchen flooring, a finished carpentry and millwork shop and an installed products division.
The General Manager/Sales Manager position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 plus bonus with full benefits included.
Position Responsibilities:- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth- Manage a team of sales representatives and provide guidance and support- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure customer satisfaction- Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities
Position Essential Job Functions:- Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales targets- Collaborate with other departments to improve overall business performance- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and vendors- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the market
Position Skills:- Five years of experience as a building materials general manager or sales manager- Strong leadership and communication skills- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
