Laser Machine Operator
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Laser Machine Operator to join a well-established manufacturing and fabrication operation in Logan Utah. This is a hands-on position responsible for setting up, programming, and operating laser cutting equipment, while also supporting other machinery throughout the weld and fabrication department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background, experience with Mastercam, and the ability to confidently read blueprints and job travelers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with CNC equipment, solving problems, and producing high-quality precision parts.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, program, and operate laser cutting equipment
Operate rollers, brake presses, machine polishers, and other fabrication equipment
Program and work within Mastercam software
Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and job travelers
Verify dimensions and specifications to ensure parts meet requirements
Understand current job requirements and machine processes
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
Maintain appropriate material inventory for assigned machines
Work closely with Project Managers, Shop Foremen, Drafters, and Team Leads to ensure accuracy and successful completion of jobs
Follow production direction and established work processes
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform regular cleaning and basic upkeep of machines and equipment
Follow all safety and quality procedures
Help identify opportunities to improve machining and fabrication processes
Qualifications
5+ years of machining experience
At least 1 year of Mastercam experience
Experience with CNC programming and machine setup
Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills
Ability to understand job travelers and technical specifications
Experience operating laser cutting equipment preferred
Experience with brake presses, rollers, or other fabrication equipment preferred
Completion of a machining program from an accredited trade school preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
