Job Title: Sr. Design Engineer – Custom Fabrication & Product Development
Location: Sedalia, MO (Relocation Support Available)
Overview: A nationally respected manufacturing group is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead end-to-end product development for complex, stainless-steel based commercial equipment. If you thrive on translating customer needs into manufacturable solutions and can own a project from sketch to shop floor, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
Own mechanical design projects from concept through production for custom fabricated products
Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and production documentation (SolidWorks preferred)
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customers to ensure feasibility and functionality
Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Evaluate materials, tolerances, DFM/DFA, and value engineering opportunities
Drive timelines and deliverables across multiple product lines or customer-specific solutions
Support sustaining engineering and cost reduction efforts across existing product portfolio
Who You Are:
Proven experience as a design engineer in a manufacturing environment — this is not a fit for recent grads or entry-level candidates
Strong background in mechanical design, with a focus on sheet metal, stainless fabrication, or food equipment a big plus
Expert in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), with a strong understanding of manufacturing methods and tolerancing
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where autonomy and follow-through matter
Detail-oriented, process-driven, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills
What You’ll Get:
Competitive base salary (DOE) + strong benefits
Career path into senior technical leadership or product ownership
Real relocation assistance for the right candidate
A workplace that values precision, accountability, and craftsmanship
If you're a hands-on engineer ready to take ownership of real design work in a manufacturing setting—this is your shot.
