Job Title: Mechanical Drafter – CAD & Design Support
Location: Naperville, IL (On-Site)
Overview:
A growing engineering and manufacturing company in Naperville is hiring a Mechanical Drafter to support design projects, create detailed drawings, and collaborate with engineers on new product development. This role is a key link between engineering concepts and production-ready documentation.

What You’ll Do:
Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical equipment and assemblies
Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support engineering design and drafting needs
Develop layouts, schematics, and assembly drawings to support manufacturing and fabrication
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop floor teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility
Update and maintain drawing standards, BOMs, and documentation for projects
Assist in design changes and modifications based on feedback from engineering and production teams
Support continuous improvement efforts in design accuracy and drawing efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of drafting or mechanical design experience
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD (required) and SolidWorks (preferred)
Ability to create detailed drawings, layouts, and models with accuracy and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work across departments
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience in material handling, conveyors, or agricultural/industrial equipment is a plus
