Job Description

We are partnered with a well-established and reputable multidisciplinary engineering firm that's seeking an experienced Bridge Structural Engineer to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in structural bridge design and a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative transportation solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects throughout the region while contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform structural analysis and design of bridges and related transportation structures.

  • Prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations.

  • Oversee and review work performed by junior engineers and technicians.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

  • Support project management activities including schedule, budget, and quality control.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).

  • 6+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on bridge design.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., MicroStation, LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, STAAD, or similar tools).

  • Strong understanding of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOT projects (Tennessee DOT experience a plus).

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
