We are partnered with a well-established and reputable multidisciplinary engineering firm that's seeking an experienced Bridge Structural Engineer to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in structural bridge design and a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative transportation solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects throughout the region while contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and perform structural analysis and design of bridges and related transportation structures.
Prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations.
Oversee and review work performed by junior engineers and technicians.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Support project management activities including schedule, budget, and quality control.
Required Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
6+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on bridge design.
Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., MicroStation, LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, STAAD, or similar tools).
Strong understanding of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DOT projects (Tennessee DOT experience a plus).
Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience mentoring junior engineers.
