Gpac is partnered with a growing cooperative in southeast South Dakota that is seeking an Energy Department Manager to oversee their propane and refined fuels department.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all department activity, including the procurement, sales, operations, and delivery of products and services in propane, lubricants, and refined fuels. 
  • Oversee costs of operations and develop strategies to reduce costs when possible
  • Supervise sales, service, and delivery staff and assist when needed in personnel, operations, and planning
  • Lead business development, strategic planning, and marketing of products and services with management and sales teams
  • Develop innovating pricing and marketing programs that maintain company profitability
  • Foster strong relationships with and provide consultation to energy consumers
  • Manage, evaluate, and provide professional development opportunities for employees
  • Work collaboratively with administrative staff to achieve company-wide initiatives, including, profitability, cross-selling, communications, staffing, and safety
  • Adhere to company credit policy
  • Actively participate in trade-association groups in the best interest of the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, or related field
  • 5+ years related experience or equivalent
  • 2-5 years in energy sales or marketing
  • Knowledge of agriculture business and cooperative structure
  • Knowledge of pricing, purchasing, and distribution of energy products
  • Management experience of individuals and teams
  • Highly developed and demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to lead in an environment of change
