Job Title: Assistant Superintendent – Civil Construction

Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join a growing civil construction team specializing in site development, earthwork, utilities, and roadway projects. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent, supporting field operations on complex civil construction projects. This role offers strong long-term growth potential and the opportunity to advance into a lead Superintendent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Superintendent in managing daily field operations for grading, excavation, underground utilities (storm, water, sewer), and roadway construction projects.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, crews, and equipment to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.

  • Track project progress, quality, and safety performance; maintain accurate documentation and daily reports.

  • Support layout, scheduling, material management, and inspection coordination.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.

  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability on-site.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role in civil construction.

  • Hands-on experience with grading, excavation, underground utilities, and/or roadway construction.

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in the field.

  • Proficiency with project documentation and scheduling software preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 (depending on experience).
