Job Title: Assistant Superintendent – Civil Construction
Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join a growing civil construction team specializing in site development, earthwork, utilities, and roadway projects. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent, supporting field operations on complex civil construction projects. This role offers strong long-term growth potential and the opportunity to advance into a lead Superintendent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Superintendent in managing daily field operations for grading, excavation, underground utilities (storm, water, sewer), and roadway construction projects.
Coordinate subcontractors, crews, and equipment to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
Track project progress, quality, and safety performance; maintain accurate documentation and daily reports.
Support layout, scheduling, material management, and inspection coordination.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability on-site.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role in civil construction.
Hands-on experience with grading, excavation, underground utilities, and/or roadway construction.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in the field.
Proficiency with project documentation and scheduling software preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 (depending on experience).
