Location: Chicago Loop (Hybrid Work Schedule, 2-3 days in the office per week, with full-time office presence required for the first 90 days)

About Us:
We are an established boutique litigation firm located in the heart of the Chicago Loop. Our practice focuses primarily on civil defense and insurance litigation, including insurance coverage claims in the areas of construction, professional liability, property and casualty, serious personal injury, and wrongful death. We are seeking a skilled and experienced attorney to join our team in the area of insurance coverage.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an Attorney with at least 3 years of substantive insurance coverage experience. Candidates with more experience and potential portable business will also be considered. As part of our team, you will be expected to independently handle substantive legal matters, including but not limited to:

  • Writing coverage opinions
  • Taking and defending party and expert depositions
  • Drafting and arguing dispositive motions
  • Trial preparation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently handle insurance coverage matters
  • Draft legal documents, including coverage opinions, motions, and other pleadings
  • Take and defend depositions of parties and experts
  • Participate in trial preparation and strategy development
  • Collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Manage a caseload and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice in the State of Illinois is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in insurance coverage law.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and taking depositions
  • Proven ability to handle complex insurance coverage cases
  • Portable business is a plus but not required
