A well-established defense firm in Portland, OR is seeking an attorney with 2+ years of experience in Medical Malpractice Defense or Professional Liability Defense to join their growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants hands-on case responsibility, strong mentorship, and the chance to grow within a respected Pacific Northwest practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of medical malpractice and professional liability defense matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal briefs
• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Analyze complex medical and legal issues to develop effective defense strategies
• Work directly with healthcare providers, insurers, and expert witnesses
• Manage cases from initial filing to resolution with partner support

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Medical Malpractice Defense or Professional Liability Defense
• Strong litigation skills, including research, writing, and motion practice
• Experience handling depositions and/or court appearances preferred
• Excellent communication and client management abilities
• Ability to manage a caseload with appropriate supervision
• Active Oregon Bar license (or ability to become admitted)
