Senior Project Manager – Structural Steel

Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale structural steel projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage complex steel fabrication and erection scopes. This is primarily an office-based role with some required travel to project sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural steel projects exceeding 8,000 tons, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.

  • Oversee coordination between engineering, detailing, fabrication, and erection teams.

  • Manage schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors, and project documentation.

  • Conduct regular communication with clients, design partners, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Review drawings, specifications, Tekla models, and project plans to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.

  • Support field teams as needed through jobsite visits and progress evaluations.

  • Identify project risks, implement solutions, and maintain strict safety and quality standards.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing large structural steel projects (8,000+ tons).

  • Structural steel fabrication and erection experience highly preferred (open to candidates stronger in one area depending on project background and stability).

  • Experience with Tekla EPM preferred, but candidates familiar with similar project management or fabrication software will be trained.

  • Strong ability to read structural drawings, fabrication details, and erection plans.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed (primarily an office-based position).
