Job Title: Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent

Job Summary:
The Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent will oversee on-site operations for heavy civil or heavy marine construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. This role requires a hands-on leader to manage field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain project schedules while stationed at project sites nationwide. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of field supervisory experience and be prepared to remain on-site for the duration of each project, with periodic travel home allowed before relocating to the next assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all on-site construction activities for heavy civil or heavy marine projects, such as bridges, dams, ports, or roadways.
  • Manage field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure work aligns with project plans and specifications.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific regulations.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor progress, resolve field issues, and report updates to project managers daily.
  • Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards throughout construction.
  • Adapt to changing site conditions and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Remain stationed at the project site for its duration, with periodic travel home as permitted.
  • Transition to new project sites upon completion, maintaining flexibility for nationwide travel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a field supervisory role on heavy civil or heavy marine construction projects.
  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage complex construction operations on-site.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay on-site for extended periods.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Physical capability to work in demanding outdoor environments and variable weather conditions.

Travel & Schedule:

  • Position requires full-time presence at project sites, with allowances for periodic travel home between assignments.
  • Relocation to new sites nationwide upon project completion.
  • Per Diem paid to cover travel/housing expenses
  • Company vehicle covered
